After succesfull trials and delivery, M.V. Alice, our Nb. 415 went into service for Erik Thun A.B. on june 6th 2013. The maiden voyage for Alice went Ballasted from Delfzijl to Antwerpen, where she loaded for Heroya, Norway.

During her first loaded voyage the ‘energy saving mode’ of the propulsion plant was tested and fine-tuned. In this mode the main engine is running at lower revolutions, while the AC electrical system is switched to 50 Hz. The results are promising: lower specific fuel consumption while the engine is running at half power.

Entering the coast of Norway some nice photos were shot of M.V. Alice, see below. We congratulate the owners with their new ship, and wish M.V. Alice and her crew many safe journeys for the years to come.
